I am an Assistant Professor of History at Ball State University in Muncie, IN, and a historian of the Middle East, Ottoman Empire, and Jews of the Muslim world (among other things). I’m the author of Natural Disasters in the Ottoman Empire: Plague, Famine, and Other Misfortunes, which recently appeared with Cambridge University Press (you can look inside and buy it here).
Previously, I taught as a visiting assistant professor at the University of Oklahoma and Emory University.
